Cinda Lark, E-RYT200, RYT500 + 800 hour LOAY (Life Of A Yogi) Dharma Yoga Teacher
Cinda owns Evolve Yoga in Keego Harbor, Evolve Juice & Smoothie Bar,
Cinda’s passion for yoga actually began when she took her first Vinyasa class, a friend practically had to drag her! About half way through the class, she knew there was no going back and this was to be a vital part of her soul for the rest of her life…

Cinda is a former gymnast, dancer and diver, so naturally, vinyasa yoga first challenged her with the physicality of the practice. She felt immediately at home with the physical practice but soon realized there was so much more to this practice, a mindful and spiritual side that came as a pleasant surprise and affected her life in a truly positive way almost immediately. She believes that yoga gives you a beautiful path to follow to find peace and calm in a tumultuous world. Craving to know more about this ancient philosophy, she entered teacher training with Andrea von Behren for her 200 hour, amazed at how the learning continues with studying and reading. She continued her studies with Alan Haras at Hamsa Yoga and then went on to study with the legendary Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City where she got her 500 hour Life Of A Yogi training. Finding Dharmaji and the LOAY program showed her a deep connection to yoga that she had been searching for. In May of 2017, she traveled back to New York City to study with Dharma once again for his 800 hour level training. Cinda is also a teacher of teachers, and offers a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher training program.

Cinda loves to teach a variety of yoga… from the grace and fluidity of a Vinyasa, the heat and alignment in Hatha and Ashtanga, Yin is ever so important to go deep into the connective tissue to counter all of the Yang in our lives, and Dharma Yoga, the yoga Cinda is the most passionate about because it includes a physical practice, deep relaxation, pranayama and meditation. Dharma Yoga is a spiritual practice that teaches us more about all of the 8 limbs of yoga.

Cinda specializes in Inversions and Arm Balances, some of her favorite moments are when a student comes down from their first inversion, inspired and in awe and previously unaware of their own ability and strength from within. Partner Yoga is also a passion, to move with a loved one, friend or even stranger through this practice reminds us that we are all connected, never alone. “We are like the roots of trees, connected beneath the surface of the forest… unseen support that comes from each other, this is a comforting thought!” CL

Finding an awareness of something, means we can make a change. If something is not working, get to the root of it! Dig deep. Sometimes it’s painful and that is ok. Sometimes we stay with something uncomfortable because it is familiar, and that is NOT ok! Sometimes it takes moving through something edgy to find something beautiful. I believe there is happiness for all of us, we need to peel away the layers and dive in. This is what yoga has taught me. This is what I would like to teach YOU!” CL

She is known for her presence, genuineness, and commitment to authentic sharing of true yoga. She takes great joy in the experiences in the lives of her students.

She is a mom to two beautiful children, and she will tell you that being a mom and teaching yoga are the two most rewarding jobs and she is grateful to have been graced with the ability to do both.

When practicing yoga at a studio, we usually begin with Breath and Poses, Pranayama and Asana. However, Cinda might ask you to imagine that you see a preview for a really good movie that you want to see, its exciting and looks very well done, but you never get to see the movie! This is like breath and pose without the rest of yoga! There are a lot more parts to the system! Here are the 8 limbs of yoga…

Balance & Binds

This is a special, one-of-a-kind workshop designed by Cinda to explore binds in yoga poses as well as balance, some, like Dancing Shiva include both! Binding means when one part of the body holds onto another part of the body, allowing the muscles to release and enabling you to relax more in a pose. Balancing poses develop muscle tone and increase coordination, concentration and focus. Developing strength and agility through balance is an important part of our lives both on and off our mats. Straps will be used where a bind cannot be reached so that you may experience what it feels like. Many students can get in to the binds once they know how!

These Hips Be Tight!

You guessed it, this Hip opening workshop focuses on one of the tightest areas in the body! Our hips can be an emotional “junk drawer” for us, a place to store things we do not really need. Many students experience a great release or emotional and physical pain during this class.

Twist and Shhhhh…

This is all about twisting. Cleansing and detoxifying the internal toxins in the body as well as toxins in the mind! The “I can’ts… the I’m not good enoughs…” Let’s wring them out!

Yoga & Juice

Combing what’s good for both the inside and outside! (You guess which is which! It’s a trick question hehe)

Yoga for Athletes

Yoga for individuals or team sports, Cinda can come and work with you or your team and design programs for individuals needs, usually focusing on hips, hamstrings and shoulders.

Talk on Yamas and Niyamas

My teacher Dharma says, “no yama, no yoga…” Let’s learn more about these observances and how we can apply them to our every day lives, living with more compassion, kindness and awareness! This is not an asana practice, more of a discussion where students are encouraged to join in!

90 degrees to the left…

In January, my children and I decided it was time to get a dog. I started looking at all of the local rescues. I didn't really know what kind of dog I was looking for, I thought a small dog might be nice. One evening in particular, I was surfing the Almost Home Animal...

What’s fear got to do with it?

In March of 2016 I went back to Costa Rica for the second year in a row with my Jungle Prana soul sister Beth James. I decided that one of the best things I could do for my two teenagers was to take them with me. So it was somewhat familiar territory for me and I was...

What makes us different?

It seems that we see ourselves as more and more different than the same. We tend to want to categorize ourselves, maybe so we feel like we fit somewhere. Sometimes this can be healthy for us, but sometimes it can isolate us and we tend to get judgmental about who is...
